I left Vancouver early this morning and am anchored in Halkett Bay on Gambier Island. This afternoon, I hiked up Mount Artaban, 12km long hike, 650m altitude and five and a half hours. I found it quite tough, either because it is early in the season and I am out of shape, or because the trail was quite steep and there was a lot of windfall that made some stretches rather difficult. The weather was perfect for hiking, there were some nice views along the way and the hot shower tonight will feel great.
