London on a sunny day

After a lively few days in Manchester, we took the train to London today and are visiting Andrea for the weekend. She was still at work this afternoon and I took the opportunity in sunny weather to walk around Tooting Common. A nice pub close by, The Bedford, was unfortunately closed for renovations, but we are going out for dinner tonight.

Sherwood Forest

We came to the UK yesterday and met up with Jessica and family in the Sherwood Forest. There is an Italian restaurant with a Vespa and the kids liked that. We are spending a few days together here.

Simon Fraser University

I took a trip up Burnaby Mountain today and visited my old university, Simon Fraser, on top of the hill. The weather is great and it was nice to spend some time there. I taught a guest seminar for graduate students in the Faculty of Science and interacting with young, smart people is always fun.

Cool and sunny

After a few days of rain, the weather is sunny again but quite cool. Perfect for walking in Stanley Park to admire the fall colours.
