We flew to London overnight and are now enjoying nice spring weather with Andrea.

We handed our flat over to the new owner yesterday and are staying in the Sylvia Hotel right on English Bay for a few days. The seawall is open again and I walked the 9km around it today. The weather is fairly cool, but with quite a bit of sunshine and only the occasional shower.

No wonder our orders take so long

Part of the Stanley Park Seawall is still closed, due to winter storm damage. The Kitsilano pool will likely also stay closed due to damage. Fortunately, the beaches are open, we just need a bit of better weather. There are eight container ships anchored in English Bay right now. I have never seen this many here before. No wonder it takes so long for orders to arrive.

I came into Port McNeill yesterday afternoon, and am busy cleaning the boat today. This evening I am flying back to Vancouver to work with Sheila on emptying our flat.

Getting closer to Port McNeill, where the boat will be while we move out of our flat in Vancouver and travel in Europe. Today I came into the anchorage between Goat Island and Crease Island, which is also very pretty, and very well protected. The sunshine helps too, though this morning there was frost on the boat again.

Only a short trip today, into Lagoon Cove. They are expecting to see bears any day now, but not yet.

A long trip today, all the way into the Broughtons. The day started with enough frost on the paddle board that I could form a snowball.

A cold start to the day

The day itself was beautiful and sunny, but not warm. The trip up Johnstone Strait was a bit bouncy, as it often is. Tonight I am in a well protected and very beautiful anchorage.

Blind Channel

It was a long trip today, through three sets of tidal rapids and tonight I am in Blind Channel, a nice resort and marina run by a German family for three generations now. This far north, there is not that much going on yet, but the sea lion colony in Gillard Passage watched with interest whether I was managing to get through there alright (I did).

There was frost this morning on the deck and dock. But at least I didn’t get snow like Rheinland-Pfalz.

I left Campbell River and came into Von Donop Inlet for the night, surprisingly there were a few other boats in there. The day turned nice and sunny, and I took the Hobie Kayak around the inlet in the afternoon.

I am on my way to Campbell River, to stock up on groceries and join a Zoom meeting tomorrow. For lunch today, I stopped in Gowlland Harbour, pretty and protected.
