We came back to Vancouver and spent more time on the beach and in the water. Last night Jessica and Sheila organized a beach party at English Bay for the family and close to 30 of us enjoyed a beautiful evening. Today Jessica and family fly back to Manchester, Andrea is with us for the next two weeks.

We all spent a few days at McGillivray at Anderson Lake. Bonnie and Andy have a beautiful property there, the weather was great, we all went swimming and the kids enjoyed playing with Blue, their very well behaved dog.

We spent two nights in Gorge Harbour, using the pool, meeting friends and enjoying the nice facilities. Today we explored Shark Spit in Uganda Passage at low tide, and met a group of killer whales as we came back to the boat in the dinghy. They were very close! The afternoon we came to Manson’s Landing, hiked to Hague Lake for a fresh water swim and explored the lagoon at high tide.

We left Von Donop early this morning, watched some humpback whales and stopped in Teakerne Arm to go swimming in Cassel Lake, a short hike from the dinghy dock there. Next stop was Refuge Cove to get some ice cream. From there we went to Squirrel Cove and watched some orcas on the way. The water here is nice and warm and we all spent a lot of time in the water.

We all went to Campbell River, moved onto the boat and are spending a week in Desolation Sound. The kids (and adults) are spending a lot of time on the water, and in the water. On the way into Von Donop Inlet tonight, we saw a few whales, one came quite close.
